Reflection
Paragraph 1: Project Description
Describe the project itself and the direction you personally took it. Which essential question(s) was your project seeking to answer? What was the inspiration behind the direction you took and the perspective you developed?
For this project we were supposed to create a visual piece to show what your personal philosophy is I decided to make a collage. With my collage i wanted to answer the question “What is the purpose of Life? Why are we here?”. My answer to this question was that there really isn’t a point and you’re not here for a long time so with the time you were given fill it with what gives you joy because that is what gives your life purpose. To answer this question I filled my collage with photos of me enjoying my life, with people/things I care about, and some of the places I’ve been.
Paragraph 2: New Insights
Please explain what new insights you developed over the course of this project either about yourself, life, the human place in the world/universe? How has you're thinking been influenced by our study of philosophy and ethics?
Would you rather be broke and happy or would you rather be miserable and have a ton of money? With my philosophy I would rather be broke and happy; money can’t buy you happiness so why would I want to have a lot of it but be sad? That doesn’t really seem like a good way to live. Knowing life goes by in an instant I want mine to be filled with things I enjoy. Pink Floyd said it best in Time “then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.” and Money “Money, so they say Is the root of all evil today.” So don’t be caught up in material things and live your life before it gets to far behind you. Why would you want nice things if you don’t use them? That’s kind of dumb so you should just want to have fun and live your life.
Paragraph 3: Further Questions and Intellectual Work Left to Do
Where do your intellectual quandaries go from here? What do you wonder about now that you may not have before? What questions do you still need to answer for yourself?
Where do I go from here? How do I make my philosophy a possibility? This is my next intellectual challenge, making this a reality and not just being something I put pen to paper to. I have tried not to worry about the future but I’ve been wondering what my life will look like 5 years down the line because of this project. Wondering if I’ll listen to my philosophy or do something with my life I hate. There are endless things I still don’t know about myself like what I want to do with my life so these next steps are going to see how that plays out and If I can hold true to my philosophy.

This is my collage that I used to demonstrate my personal philosophy
